Claire Leotta

Education

Claire is a graduate of Temple University (Bachelor of Arts, 2001) and Widener University School of Law (Juris Doctor, 2004). While in law school, she was a member of the Intensive Advocacy Program and was a Certified Legal Intern in the Criminal Defense Clinic.

About Me/Experience

Claire began her legal career in 2005 as a trial attorney at the City of Philadelphia Law Department where she was assigned to the Child Welfare Unit representing the Department of Human Services.  After leaving the Law Department in 2006, she launched a successful solo practice combining her skills as a trial attorney with her ability to provide an individualized and aggressive approach to every client.

Claire has extensive experience representing clients in all areas of Family Law including: child abuse/neglect, dependency cases, child custody, child support, relocation, adoptions, divorce, domestic violence, protection orders, post and prenuptial agreements and appellate work.  Many of these cases have involved complex litigation issues in and out of the courtroom.  With over 18 years of experience advocating for her clients, Claire aims to help her clients reach fair and equitable resolutions while tailoring her representation to each client’s individual needs.  She takes great pride in helping individuals navigate through some of the most difficult and sensitive family matters while zealously and empathetically advocating for their rights.

Claire has been a lecturer and presenter on a wide variety of Family Law topics in Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars for other attorneys and for various legal organizations.  Topics have included: “How to Handle A Child Abuse Case”, “Children and the Law”, “Termination of Parental Rights”, and “Recent Developments in Dependency Appellate Caselaw”.

Claire is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania.  She has tried cases throughout the entire state and has argued several appeals before the States Appellate Courts.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their three children, & dogs Maci & Parker.
